SkillsUSA Competitor Checklist

  • Review the SkillsUSA Technical Standards

    Ask your advisor to provide you with a copy of the current SkillsUSA Technical Standards for your competition. The standards feature all the rules for each national competition, including an overview, lists of technical skills and knowledge required, clothing requirements, eligibility, and equipment lists.

  • Online Submission Requirements

    SkillsUSA Championships national competitors must complete their online submission(s) by June 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. ET. Check the current SkillsUSA Technical Standards and competition updates to learn more about any required national pre-conference online submissions.

    Accommodation requests for the SkillsUSA Championships must be approved by the Office of Workforce Development before any competition. Competitors must submit an accommodation attestation letter to the secure Competitor Materials Portal as part of the pre-conference submission process. State-specific competition pre-conference requirements are not published on the national website.

    All national competitors will receive their login credentials  by email on May 21, 2025. This will include assigned competitor numbers and login credentials to SkillsUSA’s secure Competitor Materials Portal for uploading their resume and completing any additional competition-specific requirements.

    After May 22, 2025, national competitors can email CustomerCare@skillsusa.org or call (toll free): 844-875-4557 for login assistance.

  • Complete Your Online Test(s)

    All national competitors will receive their login credentials by email on May 21, 2025. This will include instructions and login credentials to SkillsUSA’s secure Online Testing for completing the SkillsUSA Professional Development, Quiz Bowl, and Welding tests. After May 22, 2025, national competitors can email customercare@skillsusa.org or call (toll free): 844-875-4557 for login assistance.

    National competitors will need to identify a proctor prior to taking their online test(s). The online testing window is May 22 through June 5, 2025. All required online test(s) must be completed by 5 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 5, 2025. After May 22, 2025, national competitors can email CustomerCare@skillsusa.org or call (toll free): 844-875-4557 for login assistance.

  • Check for Competition Updates

    A competition update covers anything that is not listed in the official SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards and that a competitor and/or advisor needs to be aware of and bring and/or complete for the national competition. Updates are posted frequently leading up to NLSC. Please check back regularly!

The Wi-Fi Internet access in GWCC is predominately available only on the 5GHz band. Please ensure the device you are bringing for your competition can connect to a 5GHz band. It is recommended that competitors test their device prior to arriving for NLSC, and if applicable, bring an appropriate 5GHz adaptor.
